Our Story
Two people, one oven, 1997.
Kadir and Naciye Taskin opened on Hazel Street in 1997 with the breads they grew up with and a conviction that Turkish baking belonged on an American counter.
Their five daughters run it now, with Derya Taskin as Vice President. Eighty-some bakers and staff, wholesale routes across New Jersey, and the same family signing off on every tray.
Everything is still shaped by hand, every day, at every hour. That part has never changed.

Dough works on its own schedule, so somebody is always here. That is why the counter never closes, and why a 2:30am pickup is a normal order rather than a favor.

Taskin Bakery has an extensive selection of Turkish breads and pastries. I couldn't make up my mind there were so many choices.
Wonderfully baked middle eastern breads, desserts, meatballs pies, cheese items and the like. Subtle flavors and powerful ones make choices difficult.
We're not Turkish, but love coming here. The fantastic spice smells and great tasting foods bring me back again and again.
All types breads, Turkish pastries, sweets, European pastries, coffee and tea. My wife and I shared some baklava and another sweet.
Friendly service and the staff takes time to explain the items for sale. Very good Turkish bread and the cookies are excellent.
